Proofly Privacy Policy

Proofly is a Shopify app for product reviews, made by CHRISPSDesign ("we"), the Canadian company that owns Utilwell. This policy explains what we process when a merchant installs Proofly and when shoppers submit reviews. Proofly is built to hold as little as possible: it never reads orders or customers, and never asks shoppers for an email address.
Information we collect
From the merchant's store, through Shopify:
- the shop's identity;
- products: ID, handle, title and status;
- an access token, stored encrypted.
From shoppers who submit a review: a star rating, an optional title, the review text and the display name they choose. Proofly does not accept or store photos.
From imports: the review files the merchant uploads, stored privately in our database while the import needs them.
Where reviews are stored
Reviews and replies are stored in the merchant's own Shopify store as Shopify custom data, not on our servers. We do not store a shopper's email address, IP address, customer account or order. To stop abuse, we keep short-lived, one-way hashed counters, which are deleted within a day.
How we use it
Only to display, moderate and manage the merchant's reviews and to keep product ratings up to date in the merchant's store. We do not sell data and do not use it for advertising.

Uninstalling and deletion
- Merchants can hide or reject any review at any time, and export every review as a CSV on any plan.
- On uninstall, Proofly stops displaying reviews immediately. The reviews stay in the merchant's own Shopify store.
- When Shopify sends the shop-deletion request, 48 hours after uninstall, we permanently delete everything we hold for the store: settings, import files, logs and access tokens. We keep only a non-identifying record that the deletion happened.
- We honor Shopify's customer data requests and customer deletion requests. Proofly holds no customer identity; reviews carry only the display name the reviewer typed.
Sub-processors
Render (application hosting) and Neon (managed PostgreSQL database for settings, logs and import files). Proofly uses no separate file storage.
Your rights
Shoppers who want a review changed or removed should contact the store, which controls its reviews. Merchants can contact us at any time.
