Proofly moves your product reviews into Shopify from a CSV and keeps them in your own store as Shopify data. Products are matched by ID, handle or SKU; anything uncertain waits for your confirmation.

Moderate, reply and export from one dashboard. Theme app blocks show a review widget, a rating summary and product-card stars using Shopify's standard rating fields, with no theme code edits. Plan limits never delete reviews: extras wait and publish oldest first.

How it works

Install from the Shopify App Store. There's no separate account or login.
Add the review widget and rating summary in the Theme Editor (each opens with the block ready), then turn on product-card stars.
Optional: import your old reviews from a CSV. Proofly checks the file first and writes nothing until you start the import.
Approve, hide or reject new reviews, and reply.
Ratings show on product pages and product cards, and Shopify's standard rating fields stay up to date for your theme and search.

Features in detail

Import

Files up to 50 MB: Bring reviews from your old app as a CSV.
Careful product matching: Matched by product ID, then handle, then SKU. Titles are only ever suggestions, and anything uncertain waits for you to confirm.
Never guesses: Ambiguous dates like 03/04/2024 are refused rather than guessed, and ratings must be whole stars from 1 to 5.
Safe to re-run: Imports can be resumed and never create duplicates. Your match confirmations are remembered for next time.
Problem report: A download lists any skipped rows and why, without the review text.

Moderation

Bulk actions: Approve, hide or reject many reviews at once.
Your rules: Choose whether to accept new reviews, and whether they need approval before they show.
Public replies: Reply to reviews on your product pages (Starter and above).
Full export: Download every review, replies included, as a CSV on every plan.

On your store

Review widget: Average rating, star breakdown, filter, sort, load more and a write-a-review form.
Rating summary: Drawn by Shopify on the page itself, so it loads instantly and never makes the page jump.
Product-card stars: Added automatically, skipping any card that already shows a rating.
Light and clean: No theme code edits, no jQuery or frameworks, and no requests to third parties.

Your plan, your reviews

Limits never delete: Reviews over your plan's limit are held, then published oldest first when you have room.
Downgrades are safe: Published reviews stay visible. Only new reviews wait.

Privacy and your data

Reviews are stored in your own Shopify store, so they stay there if you uninstall.
Shoppers give a rating, an optional title, their review and a display name. No email address, IP address, customer account or order is stored.
Proofly asks for access to products and its own review data only. It never reads orders or customers.
Import files are deleted 30 days after an import finishes. Everything Proofly holds is deleted 48 hours after you uninstall.
Nothing is sold or used for advertising.

Questions

Will I lose my reviews if I uninstall?

No. They're stored in your Shopify store, not on our servers.

What happens if I go over my plan's limit?

Extra reviews are held, never deleted, and publish oldest first when you upgrade or have room.

Do I need to edit my theme code?

No. Proofly uses Shopify app blocks and an app embed.

Can it see my orders or customers?

No. It only asks for access to products and its own review data.

Can I take my reviews elsewhere?

Yes. Export everything as a CSV on any plan, including Free.

Does it support review photos?

Not yet. Proofly handles text reviews and star ratings.
