About the Text Diff
Text Diff compares two versions of a text line by line and marks what changed: + for added lines, − for removed lines. Use it on contracts, copy edits, configs or lists.
How to use it
- Paste the original.
- Paste the changed version.
- Read the marked differences and the counts.
Example
Comparing "Useful tools. / Done well. / No sign-up." with "Any job, / Done well. / No sign-up. / No ads." shows 2 lines added and 1 removed.
Questions
Does it compare words or lines?
Whole lines. A line with one changed word shows as one removed and one added line.
How large can the texts be?
Up to about 5,000 changed lines; identical lines at the start and end don't count.
Is my text uploaded?
No. It's compared in your browser.
