About the Sort Lines
Sort Lines puts a list in A to Z or Z to A order, or reverses its current order. Numbers sort naturally, so item 2 comes before item 10, and upper and lower case are treated alike.
How to use it
- Paste your list, one item per line.
- Pick an order.
- Choose whether to remove empty lines.
- Copy the sorted list.
Example
item 10, item 2, item 1 sorts to item 1, item 2, item 10, not the item 1, item 10, item 2 a plain alphabetical sort would give.
Questions
What is natural sorting?
Numbers inside text are compared by value, so 2 comes before 10.
Is sorting case-sensitive?
No. "apple" and "Apple" sort together.
Can I remove duplicates too?
Use Remove Duplicate Lines first, then sort.
